SurvTech Solutions has a variety of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). These UAVs are equipped to carry a wide variety of payloads, such as the Velodyne HDL32 and VUX-1-UAV LiDAR sensor which are flown on an M600 or Harris H6 Hybrid. Our latest addition to the M300 was an upper gimbal connector. This part allows us to attach our camera to the top side of the drone. This is great for inspections that require us to fly below the item of interest, such as the underside of bridges.
Now, with the Harris H6 and our VUX LiDAR sensor, we can cover large areas in a fraction of the time it takes using traditional methods. With this technology, we can cover roughly 900 acres in just over one hour! This is a task that would take weeks to accomplish with traditional surveying methods and would still only collect a fraction of the data points we can gather with the VUX LiDAR sensor.
We are proud that SurvTech is one of the few firms in the southeast that has aerial LiDAR and imagery on UAVs and airplanes. SurvTech Solutions is fully approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to operate UAVs for aerial mapping and inspection services. For over 22 years, our UAV department has been working and focusing on aerial LiDAR, making our team one of the most experienced in the industry!
